In this collection I have posted the artworks that emphasize the passing of time through the changes of our body. Sometime these artworks put in relation photos of an adult subject with the images of when he was a child
OH DEAR! THIS IS AN OLD MAN.
The photos proposed in this artwork were take for another project. They are photographs depicting myself. When I first saw them I exclaimed "oh Dear, this is an old man". At that moment I became conscious that I had become old. Certainly, every day I happen to see myself in the mirror and I am used to seeing my own face. However, seeing myself in a different media and with unusual shots stressed the passing of time, and it highlighted the sections of an old man which the daily vision of the mirror hides.
The ipossible photo.
Carol, adult, taking a photo of herself of when she was a child. This artwork is a metaphor of when we adult remember our past, our memory, our experiences. In this case i prefer using a minimalist style. There are only two figures, not even a shadow to give consistency and weight to the bodies in order to stress the conceptual aspect of the artwork. What is important is the relationship between the figures. They are suspended in air. It is like the moon that revolves around the earth. A gravitational force that binds us to our past.

This is a more structured version of an earlier work. This artwork is a metaphor of when we adult remember our past, our memory, our experiences.
Selfportrait at age 6-60.
This self-portrait is made by fusing together two photos, the first, which is the basis of the artwork portrays me at 6 years. The second, the right part of the face, portrays me at 60 years. It 'amazing how two images so far apart in time have a such a wide coherence.
Ersilia
The person depicted is my aunt, Ersilia. I wanted to go beyond the memory I had of her, an old lady of 90 years. I did fantasies about her life. Of course, when she was a child, she has been the delight of his parents. At 20 he was a very beautiful woman who has tasted love. He had a working life. Then came the period of old age, the decline. These are the normal stages of a normal life. When we see an older person, usually we not think of all this. We are conditioned by his present appearance, we do not think about what they were. Older people bring these experiences within, they are something more than the old shell that we see.
