I resume making art after a long period of interruption. I thought I could start from where I left off. To my surprise my work had mutated. It was as if my work had become an instrument with which my emotions and memories could emerge - a sort of auto analysis. The works I produce today have a central theme - the time. These works are about memory, separation, life and death, the play of when i was a child, the transformation of our bodies over the passing years. Probably, these themes have been stimulated by the actual phase of my life. I am 60. This is an age when you begin to look back your own experiences, your own past. It is a moment in your life when your dear ones start to die; it is also a moment in your life when the likely to die increases. As to the aesthetics, my work is characterized by the choice of attributing importance to structural elements typical of a painting - frame, mount, glass and so on. All these elements contribute to the completion of an artwork. My favourite technique is the collage of photographic images taken from family photo albums, or produced specifically for the artwork with relationship to past images.
